Training & service
Teaching the work, then sending it out
The center can only hold so many beds. The training school is how the same simple health work reaches the villages that will never have a center of their own — carried there by people we've trained.
What this addresses
Across rural Kazakhstan and the countries around it, whole villages are hours from the nearest doctor. The illnesses that fill those clinics — high blood pressure, diabetes, the weight of hard lives — are exactly the ones simple lifestyle change can ease.
What's missing isn't a hospital. It's a trained neighbour who knows how to cook a healthy meal, run a walking group, teach a hydrotherapy compress, and sit with someone who's struggling — and who'll actually stay.
What we teach
Each year a small cohort lives and studies at the center for six months. They learn by doing — in the kitchen, the treatment rooms, and the fields — then spend their final weeks running real programs under supervision.
It's practical, not academic. Graduates leave able to start something real where they live.
Plant-based cooking
How to feed a family, or a village group, well and cheaply.
Simple treatments
Hydrotherapy, herbal basics, and safe home remedies that actually help.
Running a group
How to start and lead a walking group, a cooking class, or a health week.
Care for the whole person
Listening, encouragement, and knowing when to point someone to a doctor.
What your gift funds here
Most students can't pay their own way — they're the very people we most want to train. Gifts cover the concrete costs:
“I came to learn to cook for my own family. I left running a Tuesday health group in my village — sixteen people now, mostly my mother's friends. Two of them have come off their blood-pressure pills. I never thought that would be me.”

A single scholarship can seed a health group in a village that had nothing. Ask us to introduce you to this year's cohort.
