Our work

Reaching further

The part of the center you can watch from home

Only a few thousand people will ever walk through our gate. The media work carries the same cooking, the same morning talks, and the same simple health lessons to anyone with a phone — for free, in the languages people here actually speak.

What this addresses

The best health advice in Kazakhstan is mostly in English, or buried behind paywalls, or aimed at people who already eat well. Very little of it speaks plainly, in Russian or Kazakh, to a grandmother in a small town who wants to cook better for her family.

Guests leave the center changed — but their families, neighbours, and the millions we'll never host are left out. Good, free, honest content is how the work reaches past the walls.

What we make

A small team films in the kitchen and around the grounds, then edits it into things people actually watch and use. Everything is free and made in Russian, with Kazakh growing.

It's plain and warm, not slick — the same tone as the center itself.

What your gift funds here

Media is cheap to spread and not free to make. Gifts go to specific, one-time or yearly costs:

A year of the course onlinehosting, captions, and translation to keep the free course running$1,200
Basic filming kita camera, lights, and a microphone to replace borrowed gear$2,400
Kazakh-language subtitlestranslating a season of videos so they reach further$900
An editor's seasonpart-time editing help through one filming season$1,500
I found their lentil soup video at two in the morning, worrying about my husband's heart. I've made it every week since. Then I found the course. We've both lost weight. I've never set foot in the center, but it feels like they cook with me.

Help the work travel further than we can

A gift here reaches people we'll never meet. Ask us what's in production and where it's needed.

Only if it helps us prepare — there's no commitment, and no amount is too small.

We use what you send only to write back to you. We don't sell or share it, and you can ask us to delete it any time.
